Oh never mind, doesn't look like we are doing that in this league.

I back, I think I will wait until we are done drafting to make up the two picks I missed. I'll just pick up two guys then.

You can do what you want, but if it were me, I would just enter the picks in at the end of the string in the current round with the proper prefix. (Example 5.08 or 6.05). That way everyone would be able to see that you made your picks and you aren't out too much as far as falling behind.
I would also make a point of stating that these are picks that you missed because you were gone when your turn came up. Many people have been skipped over and have placed picks 2, 3, 4 picks later.
You shouldn't get penalized because you were honest and told us not to wait 8 hours for you to pick.
You know what, I got to thinking, maybe I shouldn't have written that. I am not a League manager so maybe you should check with one of them first.

You do not need to wait for your turn to come up or wait 8 hours. Post your picks in round 7 using Braves example and please do so A.S.A.P.

I assume I should post the round 5 and 6 picks I missed in those categories. I can post my round 7 one normally right?

Okay, I am going to get back on this soap box.....
We have FINALLY gotten to the end of the MLB draft, With the exception of several skipped picks).
I saw in the round 9 draft, where ST. Louis wanted to sell his team, I assumed he was joking, however, since he has missed his last several picks, I think it is time to take him seriously. It also appears there may be 1 or 2 others that need replaced as well, if they can't get their stuff together.
I made a suggestion concerning "franchise" players almost 2 weeks ago and there has been little or no discussion about it since. In a more active league, that idea is the kind of thing that should have generated a very large response from both sides of the fence.
Lastly, I, as one of the newest owners to join, shouldn't have to be the one saying this. Not to piss anyone off, but the league management, needs to start kicking some ass around here, because I think this type of league only works in the long run, if we have active/dedicated owners.
I now step down from the Box.

Ditto.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I thought St. Louis was kidding but now realize he was probably serious. The Mets haven't done anything in a while and should be contacted to see if they are in or out. The Orioles are still picking but haven't posted their roster on the ESPN website. Some of the teams haven't figured out their financials.
The LM hasn't given a firm decision yet on the order of the minor league draft (although I think he was leaning towards leaving it the same as the MLB draft, but his last comment was that he was considering the other suggestion). I haven't heard back on the Yankees question on "locking" franchise players to your roster nor my suggestion that if we do we limit it to anywhere from 30-90 days.
I only join one league per year as I don't enjoy trying to track more than one league. If the LM's have no desire to keep this league going and keep owners active, please let me know as I still have time to join a different league before the season starts and I can write the time I invested in this league off to a "practice" draft.

My turn I guess since the "LM" was made plural. Both the LM (Rays) and Yankees are in a league that I created and they both know what type of league I run and what I expect out of the owners in that league. Rays were an original owner in there and Yankees took over for an owner I booted for inactivity. Ask either one of them about that league and I hope you'll get nothing but positives. I keep up the website, message board, and we've created a "weekly" type blog covering league events and news.
I was asked to join this league and help him out since he was fairly new to it and I've set up and run leagues before. It's not an easy task. He's run into a tight personal schedule and I think I've more than helped out to keep things going in the draft and such. Ultimately, it's his league, I'm not going to boot people - that's his job. I will help in finding replacements, but he needs to do the booting.
As far as the "franchise players" suggestion. I have no problem with that but think there needs to be a set timeframe before you can release them. Maybe one month of the reg. season or something. You can trade them whenever, but can't outright release them for one month of the reg. season.
That's my two cents. Sorry if it seems a bit harsh, but I feel that I've done quite a bit in trying to keep things running smoothly and everyone active. I can't physically go and make people sign on and be active and, like I said, it's up to the LM to boot people.

Mike,
Let me say here, that even though I used the word Management, none of my comments were directed at you as I knew you were basically in a "help out" mode. The other league you spoke of is fantastic in all aspects, and I would recommend it to any of the active owners here for next year should we have any openings happen (Won't be my team tho).
I guess my statements were directed more toward the LM, as I agree it is his league to do the removing of inactive owners. That said, I haven't seen him as very active, and I think you'll agree with my point that you can't adequately run a league like this being a part time LM.
But I think the responsibility also lies heavily on the guys that agreed to join the league in the first place. Get with the program or get gone. For Example; St Louis, if you want out, post a thread saying so, don't bury an entry in the middle of the draft!!!
I really don't want to sound like a complete A-hole about this, but in my opinion, I do this for fun and honestly FUN=Active. So if you don't have the time or inclination any longer to be an active owner, please feel free to bow out gracefully now, because Baseball is a long season.
Here's what I think is a pretty good rule when it comes to playing fantasy sports, especially, Baseball, is if you don't have time to log on to the leagues you are in at least once a day, then you should rethink your participation in this or any other league. Now I know crap happens, it does for all of us, but crap doesn't happen for weeks at a time, and if it does in your life, then the last thing you need to be doing is being involved in Fantasy sport...
Hopefully things will improve once the season starts, but I fear we are in for a long season of dealing with inactive teams at the rate it seems to be going presently.
I have said my piece, I'm done now.

I agree with what you're saying. It is the responsibility of each owner to check in at least once a day. If you can't do that or don't think this is the league for you, then please let us know now so we can try to find new owners before the season starts. I'm sure the LM would appreciate it as would the rest of the league. Thanks.

So...are you going to start the MiLB draft anytime soon? Since it will probably take at least 3-4 weeks we should probably start now since the MLB season begins in 3 weeks.

I've emailed him to find out. I'm assuming he's going to want to be sure we don't have to replace anyone before we start it. It's not a huge deal that we don't finish it before the season starts. Sure, there are some players that will be drafted that can be brought right up, but probably not enough to stress out about. It would be better to make sure we have a full league before we do another draft.

I suppose it's not that huge a deal. It's just I like to know who's in my farm system before I make any trades. And I have no idea when I would make a trade, I don't typically do it the first week of the season but you never know when the opportunity presents itself. I like to know that, hey I have that super-prospect that plays OF so I can afford to trade my best OF for a 3B or something. I guess we don't have to have it done before the season starts, but I don't want to still be drafting well into the first month.
