This is a suggestion for our "Franchise players" drafted from our respective teams.
Since it seems kind of silly to select these players, then be able to drop them for other players as soon as the draft is over, I suggest the following rule adjustment:
"Franchise players must be kept on the selecting team's roster, until the time they are Demoted/Released/Traded from the MLB team they were selected from. Teams are allowed to demote or trade these players, but not drop them to pick up a Free Agent."
We would need to adopt this rule prior to the end of the MiLB draft and before any FA pickups are allowed.

Here's what I say we go with unless the LM overrules me.
You must keep those players designated as "keepers/franchise players" from your original franchise draft until the All-Star break of the first season. You can trade or demote them (if eligible) before then, but you can't release them until after then.
Does that work for everyone?

Lets consider that a decision made so that we can move on and get some things done. We are getting nothing done.

Yeah, but I'm not cool with that rule. I don't want some of my worthless franchise players. I have 2 or 3 players on my team that I had to keep just because we had to pick 15 players. I planned on cutting those worthless players for positions that I need, like a C and some RP.
Someone before said you can't make a rule change without everyone agreeing to it, well this is the same situation. I don't agree to it because I'm getting penalized again for not having a high pick in the franchise draft. If I had gotten the 2nd or 3rd pick I would have a much better team and could probably live with this rule, but since I only got the 11th pick, I got stuck with a lesser team. That is already penalty enough, why do I have to keep the players that are actually back-ups on the real-life D-Backs. They aren't going to be playing for the real team, so why should I have to keep them on my fantasy team? All they will be is a dead spot.
There was no specific rule written down about this when I joined, therefore I can only conclude the LM made this rule recently and failed to inform everyone before the draft was concluded. I may have used a higher pick to draft a quality catcher had I known I couldn't pick one up in FA. Sorry to be a jerk about it, but I don't like getting screwed over.

Actually this was a rule amendment that I had offered, and the (as it appears) acting LM, decided to agree on. However, after reading your post I realize this might not be fair for all teams, so I would suggest amending it to read, you must keep at least 10 of the 15 franchise players you drafted, because I do believe we should be required to keep at least some of those players, or why bother drafting them in the first place.
This is the kind of interaction I was hoping for when I first proposed this back in,,,oh wait its been too long for me to remember...lol

Hey Arizona,
Don't apologize for being a "jerk" just because you are voicing your opinion. I have yet to see you call anyone names so I don't take anything you say as being offensive.
You are going to have to try harder to qualify as a jerk. It just may seem like anyone who voices an opinion is extremist in this league because of the very little activity that occurs in this league.
I just didn't want this to bog us down from trying to get things started again as we have done NOTHING, NOTHING AT ALL, for a very long time.
And just because we are talking about things again, doesn't mean we have accomplished anything. Still haven't resolved any of the issues, nor have we started up the draft again, nor are we in a position where people can conduct transactions on the ESPN website. Whoever is in charge needs to make decisions, make them as soon as possible and we need to move forward.
Thanks for your opinions man.

I've been working on finding new owners all day. I found one so far and he appears to be very active which is great. He should be an excellent addition to the league. I've got others looking at the Angels, and the league, to see if they want to take the team. I've posted the poll on the Franchise Players so the league can vote and it will be final. I'm giving the Mets until tomorrow then I'm finding someone for him. The person who takes over the Angels will need to pick the 10 MiLB keepers from the Yankees because I cannot find anywhere that the old owner did so. Free agency can begin after the MiLB draft, that way we know who's actually available. I don't think it'd be a good idea to start the MiLB draft before those 10 keepers are selected for the Angels. I'm doing what I can while trying to do some real work too. The MLB player draft is done. Those remaining picks will be made as we go. So please don't say nothing is being done. I know you're frustrated and I understand that. It shows you're an active owner and that's what this league needs. It's great. I know this is kind of a run on paragraph, but I'm too busy to worry about proper structure right now.

Oh and if any of you know someone to take over one of these teams that will be an active owner, I'm sure Mike won't mind a bit for the help.

It's regarding the 15 players kept from the franchise draft - which would be the 15 Yankees players w/ your team.
